Myofascial & Deep Tissue Massage Can Help With
Why Do I Need Myofascial or Deep Tissue Release? What are the benefits?
Fascia is the thin tissue that covers all the organs of your body. This tissue surrounds every muscle and even each individual muscle fiber and along with your muscle its referred to as the myofascial unit. When muscle fibers are injured, the fibers and the fascia which surrounds it become short and tight. This uneven stress can be transmitted through the fascia to other parts of the body, causing pain and a variety of other symptoms in areas you often wouldn't expect. Myofascial Release treats these symptoms by releasing the uneven tightness in injured fascia.
A primary goal of each session is to promote self-management and health independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.
In most musculoskeletal conditions, Myofascial Release has proven to be one of the most effective manual therapy techniques for long term reduction of pain.
